July 2013 Digital Scrapbooking Blog Challenge Ad
This is an ad I found in one of my running magazines. I like how the circles were horizontally split between the number and the description. I took that as inspiration to create my template.
My Challenge Layout
This summer my daughters have been playing a lot of basketball. In June they attended a 4 day away camp at my alma mater, Lake Forest College. I was shocked at how they’ve improved the facilities since I played ball there. When I attended the school, there was basically one gym and a weight room.
They now have a huge gym addition added to the front of the building. It houses two full basketball courts and an indoor soccer field. Most of the downstairs area is a weight room – a super NICE weight room. It was amazing! The 2nd floor houses all the treadmills and elliptical machines – all with TVs. The 2nd floor was cut open and looked down onto the three courts. It had a two lane indoor track running around the top. It was absolutely incredible. Kudos to Lake Forest College for this addition to their athletic program.
During the week, the camp was open to parents so I got to see a few of their games. On the last day, I brought my camera and took some photos. Both girls played very well. Sam won the camp free throw contest. She had to shoot through three different levels with the finals being shot in front of the entire camp. I wish I could have seen her do that but I probably would have made her more nervous than she already was. So proud!
Here is my challenge layout. 🙂

Thanks Monica!
Hi Jen ,
I have a little favor to ask : re the Blog Challenge Template sample , could you pls tell me :
– the words ” Lake ” & ” Forest ” in banners , is this a banner font ? if yes , what is the name ? ( I mean letters including the banner )
– if not , where did you find the banner base and the metal string to hold it ? they look great !
Those banners & holder would fit perfectly for my school project , I really hope you will answer a short message ( my e.mail included )
Thank you 🙂 !
Hi Lucas!
The banner is not a font but one of my alphas. I link to it in the layout supply list. You can purchase it as an individual alpha or as part of a 3 sports alpha pack. The metal rod is included in the mega alpha set.
PACK – http://www.jenreed.com/store/essentials-365-sports-season-alpha-mega.html
Individual – http://www.jenreed.com/store/essentials-365-sports-season-flag-alpha.html
Hope that helps!

Jen, here is my page, Split Rock Lighthouse. Although there aren’t any pirates in my layout, the colors and the little wave border from your kit, Pirate Code, worked great with my photos.

Hello Jen
** Sure , thank you for the details . I am ready to buy the Sports Season Alpha Mega – pack of 3 – but simple question : in ‘Flag Alpha’ you mention : description : 5 Bars & 5 Rings (to assemble your own hanging banners) but on display it’s only strings/ropes ? Accessories are very useful, so I make sure first 🙂
I don’t have Paypal but will ask somebody in Canada to order for me .
Thank you for your answer , appreciated !
Oh! Thank you for catching that. That is a typo in my product description. I fixed it. The Flag Alpha come with the strings. The bars come with the Banner Alpha.
Thanks for the template! http://scrapmatters.com/gallery3/jen-reed/p249774-welcome-the-new-year.html
